Task 1
Question

The graph below shows the proportion of four different materials that were recycled from 1982 to 2010 in a particular country.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Answer

This is the graph of rating materials which are selected for recycling from 1982 to 2010. Looking at this graph, there are four lines for each materials: paper and cardboard as blue line, glass containers as orange line, aluminum cans as green line and plastics as purple line.
Firstly, paper and cardboard was middly increased from 65% to 80% in 1982-1994, then it decreased 10% from 1994 to 2010. It similars to the number in 1986, when it was 70%. Opposed to to paper and cardboard, glass containers was decreased 10% in 1990, but from 1990 to 2010, it was strongly increased from 50% to 60% . The aluminum cans is the most developed from 5% to 45%. It higher five times than the plastics, the lowest line in this graph with only increased slowly 9% in 2010. However, there is a big difference between aluminum cans with paper and cardboard. While the aluminum cans was increasing, paper and cardboard was slightly decreasing.
Conclusion, the highest recycling rate is aluminum cans with the number in 1986-2010 increased 40%. The lowest recycling rate is plastics which has its number slowly increased only in 10% in twenty years.

Question

Write about the following topic:

Learning English at school is often seen as more important than learning local languages. If these are not taught, many are at risk of dying out. 

In your opinion, is it important for everyone to learn English? Should we try to ensure the survival of local languages and, if so, how?

 

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Answer

Nowadays, English is the most using language in the world with approxiamately 1.35 billion people who speaking English. That is the reason why learning English is important for everyone. However, the survival of local languages in globalization era is disappearing, so we should ensure it. There are opinions, reasons with advantages and disadvantages.
Firstly, learning English brings many benefits for people. Because English now becomes a global language, people who learn English can connect to each other. Many countries in the world uses and seems English like their second language. In Vietnam, students in all grades have to learn English since they were in kindergartens. English in Vietnam’s high school is one of the most important subjects besides Maths and Literature
