Question

The graph below shows the proportion of four different materials that were recycled from 1982 to 2010 in a particular country.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Answer

the line graph illustrates the percentage of 4 different items which were selected for recycling during the period from 1982 to 2010.
Overall, the propotion of 4 materials for recycling had increased in 18 years. There was only 2 items had shown that they were used popularly in 1982, the others ones had appeared in next few years later.
In 1982, the percentage of glass containers which was selected for recycling started at 50%. After that this rate had gradually decrease in next 3 following years before it steadily rise and approached at 60% in 2010. Recycling from paper and cardboard items had a fluctuate trend during the timeframe. There was nearly 65% in 1982 the went up to 10% in 1986 and returned to the simillar rate with the first years after 1 year later and achived 80% in 1994.
The 2 others items had the same increase trend. While the rate of alluminium cans started at nearly 5% in 1986 and steady went up to over 40%, the propotion of plastic become were chosen until 1990 with about 3% and sightly rise through 10 years laters.

Question

Write about the following topic:

Learning English at school is often seen as more important than learning local languages. If these are not taught, many are at risk of dying out. 

In your opinion, is it important for everyone to learn English? Should we try to ensure the survival of local languages and, if so, how?

 

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Answer

It is argued that English is considered should be prefer teaching at school for students than local language because of its importances. It may lead to many risks of dying out for them if lacking in learning English. In this essay, I would evaluate both pros and cons before proposing whether or not.
On the one hand, Nowadays in the era of international integration, English become a common and popular laguage which is selected for using by many countries. Therefore, teaching this language as soon as possibe for students at school, it will bring a lot of benefits in providing them future job opportunities or help them easy to living and studying abroad. Resulting, they not only improve their own ability but also contributing to propect development of their country.
On the other hand, lacking teaching local language for also bring to many negative impact for each individuals and those countries. Students need to use mother tounge to interact and communcate with their family. Moreover, local language should be learning at school because this way is also one of the way to maitain traditiona values.
In conclusion, there are mixed opinions in teaching english and local language at school. In my own view, both of languages should be teaching for students balancing at schools. There are extracirculums programs about national values to ensure the survial of local languages
