In 1982, paper & cardboard and glass containers stood at 65% and 50% respectively. Then paper & cardboard rose to 80% and glass aluminium cans fluctuated and made up 50% – similar with the figure in the first time of the period. In 2010, these two materials ended at 70% and 60% respectively.

Answer

It is believed that studying English at school is often regarded as more essential than being taught local languages. When these are not taught, many are running the risk of dying out. From my perspective, I suppose that learning English is necessary and the survival of local languages are also indispensible to be ensured.
On the first time, there are some reasons why teaching English for children at school is essential. Firstly, English is now thought as the international language, so a person having English knowledge are likely to be more successful and gain expected working positions such as : earning more money, becoming a boss,… In addtion, being able to speak more than one language, expect for mother tongue, helps students communicate with more people all over the world. This would expand their social circle.
On the other hand, it is also understandable when ensuring the survival of local languages is as necessary as studying English. First of all, paying too much attention to foreign language may reduce the popularity of local languages. Therefore, new generations cannot use their mother language fluently. Besides, traditional culture is associated with local languages. When a huge number of people are not good at using mother tongue, the extinction of custume is on the verge of disappearing. So, what are the solutions to this issue ? At first, policy maker should adjust the equality of both English and mother languages suitably. Then, they also need to show the importance of mother tongue to students.
In conclusion, I still believe that both English and local languages are necessary. Both of them play an inspensible role in education.
