Answer

Nowadays, English is one of the most popular languages in the world, so people believe that studying local languages is not as essential as studying English. But if many local languages are not taught, many of them can be risk of extinction. In my view, both English and local languages are important for all people and they should be protected. This essay can give reader the reasons why both languages are important and how to ensure the survival of local languages.
On the one hand, English might be a language which is used by most of people all over the world. Almost nations use English to communicate, to teach children and to negotiate with other countries. If a person do not speak English, he can not follow the foot of other people, can not read special documents. Besides, English can help people connect with foreign speakers who live in other nations. When people can connect with other native speakers, they can gain understanding about these nations. For example, a Vietnamese student who is learning English for 6 years can speak with American fluently, so she has a lot of good foreign friends and can read some amazing foreign magazines.
On the other hand, local languages is facing a high risk of dying out because local languages are not popular than English. Although local languages are the cultural cradles of all nations, now humans do not care about these cradles. If these languages become extinct, future generations can not have deep understanding about national traditions and cultures. Therefore, people should do some actions to prevent the extinction of these languages. By the way, government can raise public awareness about the necessary of local languages. Besides, the government can build education system which teach English and local languages simultaneously. When children are taught two languages, they can learn all subjects and become multilingual people. For instance, students who study at all primary schools in Vietnam can be educated in both Vietnamese and English. That can protect the important of Vietnamese and enhance the ability of studying English.
In conclusion, both English and local languages are very important for all people. When people learn English, they should try to ensure the survival of local languages by some solutions.
