The line chart detailed statistics about the percentage of four different materials that were recycled in a particular country between 1982 and 2010.
Overall, all the materials witnessed upturns, with paper and cardboard consistenly being the highest. Additionally, aluminium cans had the most significant growth rate.
The recycling rate of paper and cardboard started at the highest result of about 65 percent and increase slightly by 5% . Despite decreasing by about 5 percent by 1990, it experienced a recovery to exactly 80 percent 4 years later. After 1994, it dropped moderately to 70 percent in the end.
There were 50 percent of glass containers recycled, which was the second highest material amongst the four categories. Aluminium cans was started to recycling in 1986 with only 5 percent and recorded the most significant increase, in which it grew to 40 percent in 2010. Finally, the plastics was started at the lowest recycling rate with under 5 percent in 1990. Thereafter, it increase slightly to nearly 10 percent by the final year.
