The graph below shows the proportion of four different materials that were recycled from 1982 to 2010 in a particular country.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Answer

The given chart illustrates the proportion of recycling rate for paper and cardboard, glass containers, aluminium cans and plastics during the period 1982 to 2010.
It can be seems that, the figures for glass containers, aluminium cans and plastics were increased, while the opposite was paper and cardboard.
The rate of paper and cardboard began with about 65 per cent which became the highest starting number in 1982. This field continued to climb to 70 per cent , before decreased to the number as began in 1990. However, there is a witnessed about rose by 15 per cent in the next 4 years, followed by a significant go down to 70 per cent in 2010. Next, the number of glass containers was the different trend, which began 50 per cent in the first year. In the following 8 years, this number decreased to 40 per cent but there are a gradual increase to 60 per cent in the end of 2010.
Besides, the field of aluminium cans and plastics also had the same begining number which started with about 3 per cent in 1986 and 1990.

Question

Write about the following topic:

Learning English at school is often seen as more important than learning local languages. If these are not taught, many are at risk of dying out.

In your opinion, is it important for everyone to learn English? Should we try to ensure the survival of local languages and, if so, how?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
