Question

The graph below shows the proportion of four different materials that were recycled from 1982 to 2010 in a particular country.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Answer

Glass containers was recycled from 1982 at the rate of 50 percent and down to 45 percent in 1986 and 40 percent in the year 1990. It was raised to 50 percent in 1994 and growing steadly to 60 percent through the years of 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010.
Paper & cardboard was started recycled in 1982 with the rate of 65 percent then raised to 70 percent in 1986. it was step downed to 65 percent in 1990 then raised up rapidly at the rate of 80 percent in 1994 then steadly down to 70 percent through the year of 1998, 2002, 2006 till 2010.
Alumininium cans recycled rate down from 45 percent to 25 percent from the year 2010 back to 2002 then steadly down to 5 percent through the years of 1998, 1994, 1990 and 1986.
Plastics was recycled from 1990 at the rate of about 3 percent then raised up to 5 percent in 1994. It raised up steadly from 1994 to 2010 at the rate of about 8 percent.

Question

Write about the following topic:

Learning English at school is often seen as more important than learning local languages. If these are not taught, many are at risk of dying out.

In your opinion, is it important for everyone to learn English? Should we try to ensure the survival of local languages and, if so, how?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
