Answer

Learning English has been receiving a great deal of public concern. People have different views about learning English and learning local languages. Some people say that Learning English at school is often seen as more important than learning local languages and if these are not taught, many are at risk of dying out. In this essay, I will clarify that problem and offer some solutions to ensure the survival of local languages.
English plays an important role in modern society and learning it becomes more significant. Learning English can bring many remarkable benefits. For example, a student fluent in English can use this to earn income by tutoring, translating,… In addition, English also help extra relationship like making friends and communicating with anyone in over the world. However, the importance of local languages cannot be denied. The local languages carry the local culture, it also is the main tool to communicate with family and people around.
With the development of English, the local languages seem to gradually lose their most important position. So, we need some solutions to ensure the survival of local languages. In my opinion, we should promote more local activities. For instance, organize a knowledge contest, in which the contestant will talk about his knowledge of the place he lives. Moreover, schools also need to focus on local language education.
In short, each language has its own importance and benefits. We should not put too much emphasis on any language, but should evenly distribute and learn languages.
